HISTORY OF THE BRASS BRAD'S

MENTORSHIP AWARD

The Brass Brad Screenwriting Mentorship Award was founded in 2005 to help satisfy the need for mentorship opportunities for struggling writers.  While it's nice to receive recognition for work well done, it's another thing entirely to develop not only your writing skills, but your selling skills as well.  The award included script consultation and bi-weekly phone conferences for a full year, plus other tools writers' need to be in the BUSINESS of screenwriting.  Such tools included professional screenwriting software, trade subscriptions, and more!

The first selected mentoree for the 2006 mentorship year was Donald Cager, a talented writer from New York City who wrote A NIGHT AFTER CHRISTMAS, a hilarious family comedy.

Donald Cager.  Now produced.  2006 Mentoree.

Elizabeth Pfeiffer, a talented new writer from Pennsylvania, was selected as 2007's mentoree.  Her political action-thriller, MILITARY AFFAIRS, served as a very promising writing sample.

Elizabeth Pfeiffer.  2007 Mentoree.

The Brass Brad Screenwriting Mentorship award is presently on hiatus.  More mentorship opportunities will become available soon, but mostly at the production level.  Former mentorees and finalists will receive priority consideration.
