SCREENWRITERS GROUPS Writer's
Guild of America, West: Obviously if you're qualified to become a member of the WGA, west or WGA, east then you need no introduction. They are THE UNION for working screenwriters. However, their website also offers valuable information for screenwriters who have not yet accumulated enough points to become a member, and even the aspiring screenwriter will find gold nuggets on the WGA, west website, including a list of current guild signatory agents. AFI is committed to advancing, preserving and redefining the art of the moving image. Your membership helps this worthwhile cause. Basic Membership (currently $50) includes:
Scriptwriters
Network The Scriptwriters Network's primary purpose is to provide screenwriters access to information about the entertainment industry. You must submit a copy of your script, along with their application form, the appropriate membership fee, and a $15 application processing fee. Membership is NOT guaranteed. If your membership application is not accepted, your membership fee will be refunded. Membership fees range from $65 - $100 per year. You may subscribe to their newsletter only for $55 per year.
American Screenwriters
Association Benefits include monthly network meetings, seminars and key note speakers, Selling to Hollywood Screenwriters Conference, script competitions, writer's retreats, and a newsletter.
Screenwriters Workshop offers critiques, workshops & more. Must participate to remain a member. Screenwriters' OnLine Cooperative
is a free, but invitation-only craft and career development
forum. Writers read each others work & provide valuable feedback, as
well as network within the industry.
